Guidelines for Working with Minors Updated

If you need to apply for, or renew, your background clearance to work with minors:

People over 18 need a background clearance to work with minors; and if you transport minors, you need an additional clearance for transportation.

The Regional Training Institute Board greets you warmly as it shares with you two important documents that were significantly revised in January 2023:

  • Policy for the Protection of Children, Junior Youth, and Youth
  • Guiding Principles and Standards Pertaining to the Protection of Minors.

They include significant learning that has taken place at the grassroots over the past six years. Please discard any previous versions of these documents.
