Wyandot, Ohio: Outreach Leads to Junior Youth Activity

A group of friends in Ohio were inspired by a case study from the East Coast.

In November, with encouragement from Counsellor Billy Silva, they started meeting weekly to prepare for outreach. The Counsellor advised the nucleus of friends to “move quickly and accept learning from other friends” to work with their plan. “You need to act and see what confirmations are given,” he said. The following story tracks the response over a period of six weeks.

Invitation: Reflection on Historic Holy Land Gathering

Join Tucker Myers for a reflection on the recent historic gathering in the Holy Land to commemorate the Centenary of the Ascencion of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá.

Tucker was the Midwest Region’s representative to the gathering — he invites the friends to reflect on it at two Zoom conversations, Sunday December 19 at 9am, and Wednesday December 22 at 7pm.

Creative Planning for this Spring’s Conferences

As Bahá’ís around the region begin preparation for the upcoming conferences to launch the Nine Year Plan, the time to develop individual creative expression, group projects and coordinated efforts with friends of the faith starts now.

The Arts find their truest expression when shared. It’s when the intent of the artist touches the heart, mind, soul of another, that a God-given gift finds fruition. But creativity often requires dedicated time for inspiration to unfold.

Children’s Celebration of the Life of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá

The Bahá’í children from northeast Ohio organized a celebration of the life of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá to commemorate the centenary of His Ascension. The celebration was held at a local library in the greater Cleveland area. Around 30 people attended — around half were children and youth.

When guests arrived some of the children passed out copies of a talk that Abdu’l-Bahá gave while in Cleveland in 1912. They also passed out chocolate coins to remember how ‘Abdu’l-Bahá always had sweets & coins to give to children.
